Outdoing Aitana López. Crafting an Awesome AI Software Developer

It’s time we started to take this stuff seriously. AI is going to be here to stay with us and it’s time we got used to it. However, there is one software developer who wants to take things up a notch and move us all into the future.

The Secret Developer has seen Aitana López and not only is unimpressed but wishes to make their own AI software developer created from their idea of the perfect software developer.

What could possibly go wrong?

The idea

“I’m The Secret Developer and this time I’m going to put the revolution into the AI revolution.

I’m on a quest to create an AI software developer, a digital prodigy that will revolutionize the way we perceive and engage with software development.

I’m going to show you how to make an AI that will conquer GitHub, run roughshod over Reddit and won’t even need a mechanical keyboard.”

The AI recipe

“I’m well aware of what makes the best developer. It’s someone who should be just as good as me in all aspects.

- perfect code with no bugs

- working memory to hold in complex code structures

- awesome creative genius to solve programming challenges

That means me essentially.”

What we need to avoid

“The model we are going to train will be something special. We are going to avoid slavish adherence to rules and ‘because it was already like that’. We are going to avoid taking on code reviews with a response of ‘I’ll do that in the next PR’.

We are going to make the best software developer AI there ever can be!”

The special training sauce

“I’m about more than just the basics. To be as awesome as The Secret Developer we are going to need more than just train the model on the best code.

We are going to need it to have personality. That doesn’t mean trawling Reddit and X either.

We want more than a tool; we want to create a digital colleague that anyone would love to collaborate with.

That is, we are going to train this AI on The Secret Developer’s blog posts, it might even throw in a few jokes to lighten up those intense debugging sessions in between the awesomeness.”

Conclusion

AI is no joke. The Secret Developer is no joke as a software engineer. Combine the two and we might finally have a software engineer who can pass those technical interviews.

“Even if we create this AI model of software engineering perfection, it won’t replace me. It can’t wear a hoodie, for a start.”
